Criminal Traffic Violations

Criminal traffic violations can have a significant impact on your criminal record, as they carry fines and other penalties, including jail time. It is important take these violations seriously and seek legal advice if you are facing criminal traffic charges.

If you're facing a criminal traffic violation in Florida, paying a fine won't make the charges go away. You'll need to appear in court and defend your rights. That's why it's crucial to hire an experienced criminal defense attorney who can help you navigate the legal system and fight for the best possible outcome.

Civil Traffic Offenses

Traffic tickets for speeding and other violations may not carry criminal penalties, but they can still have a significant impact on your driving record. Accumulating points against your driver's license can lead to increased insurance rates, and too many points can result in license revocation.  While traffic school may reduce fines and license points, it may not always be the best option for handling a ticket.

Traffic Penalities

You could face these consequences if convicted of a traffic violation:

Points on your License

When it comes to traffic infractions, points can be assigned to your license depending on the nature of the offense. For example, reckless driving could result in four points on your license. If you accumulate a certain amount of points within a specified period, you may end up with a license suspension.

12 points within 12 months, you could lose your license for 30 days.
18 points within 18 months, you could lose your license for three months.
24 points within 36 months, you could lose your license for a year.

If you've recently received points on your license, it's important to take them seriously.  You might think that getting a few points on your license isn’t a big deal. However, these points can add up, and you don’t want to risk losing your driving privileges.

Driver Improvement Courses

Some infractions such as drag racing or reckless driving will require you to take a driver’s improvement course.

If you have been charged with a Criminal Traffic Violation you will find yourself in immediate need of legal assistance about criminal matters.
